Five-Minute Feng Shui Friday – Correct Direction of Water Features for Wealth
Water is symbolic of wealth, representing the power and direction of money flow in Feng Shui. Many people will place water features to be viewed as people walk up to their home or into their store for the visitor to view and enjoy. This is a lovely idea, but it is an incorrect placement to harness the power of money in your business and lives.
This water feature is placed in a correct location for attracting more business and money into the store according to Feng Shui. we want the “flow” of water to be flowing toward the inside of the building, not toward the front door or entrance, which is how many novices will place water features, intending the customers to see it an want to come in. By placing it to the side of the door, customers hear it, yet can’t see it. They are drawn into the store to find it. Once inside, they are then moving with the energetic flow of the water around the store, making purchases along the way.
Water features having a directional flow need to be placed with the “directional flow” moving toward the inside of the building, not facing the entrance or doorway. If you have a water feature where the water flows down rocks into a basin, the flow of water needs to face towards the center of the building.
Simply turn your water feature around or find a new location where the fountain looks wonderful and the sound of the water can be heard. If the water is not spilling over in all directions there is a directional flow. This should flow inward, not outward. It is symbolic of wealth filling your space, not flowing out to supply the world with your money.
